The Surrey Langley SkyTrain will improve transportation options, increase access to housing and services such as childcare and healthcare, support healthy communities and the environment and foster economic development. The project will extend the Expo Line 16 kilometres, primarily along Fraser Highway from King George Station in Surrey to 203 Street in the City of Langley. It will improve regional transportation connections and provide fast, frequent and reliable transit service, especially for those who live, work, study and play South of the Fraser River.

This redevelopment plan includes the replacement of the air terminal building, extension of sewer lines from the new terminal, parking lots and service roads. It will also provide new apron and taxiways and the expansion of existing apron and related infrastructure. The airport provides passenger and cargo services to those in northern Manitoba and western Nunavut. It covers 37 northern communities, including 15 remote Indigenous communities only accessible by air and ice roads.
