Southbridge is a seven-storey long-term care home that adds 192 beds to the historic town of Port Hope. Incorporating ample green space, the surrounding site ensures that residents and the neighbourhood can both enjoy the long-term care home. The neutral, earthy colour scheme also allows the building to fit in as though it belongs, rather than imposing itself on the landscape. The assortment of living options has been carefully considered, with varying levels of care and private/shared spaces available. Additionally, an enclosed courtyard ensures privacy for residents to enjoy the outdoors as if in their own backyard. The ground floor is primarily amenity space and each floor above contains additional private amenity space for the residents that reside on that level.
